Student council

Bright Learners’ students conducted a democratic election process to elect our 2023 Student Council members. Student Council candidates performed passionate public speeches in front of students, and staff.  Congratulations to the winners who were voted in as Student Councillors to help give our students a valued voice in our school development journey

Our student council is the voice of the student body.  They help share student ideas, interests and concerns with the school wide community.

Why is the student council so important?

Student council serves as a platform for student representation, allowing students to voice their opinions, concerns, and ideas. They act as advocates for student rights and work towards addressing issues that affect the student body. By representing the student voice, they contribute to a more inclusive and democratic school environment.

Being a part of the student council provides an opportunity for students to develop their leadership skills. They learn to take on responsibilities, make decisions, manage projects, and work collaboratively with their peers and school administration. These experiences contribute to the personal growth and development of student council members. Student councils play a vital role in fostering a sense of community within the school. They organize and promote various events, such as social gatherings, fundraisers, and community service projects. These activities help build school spirit, enhance relationships between students and staff, and create a positive school culture.

The existence of a student council encourages active student participation in school affairs. It provides a platform for students to engage in decision-making processes, allowing them to contribute to shaping their educational experience. This empowerment leads to increased student ownership and investment in the school community.  Communication and Collaboration: Student councils facilitate effective communication channels between students, teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders. They serve as a liaison between the student body and the school administration, ensuring that concerns and ideas are effectively conveyed and addressed.
