Our academic staff utilize evidence-based teaching strategies and apply best practices to ensure high-quality teacching and learning.
Teachers promote early literacy through library sciences, social interactions, and language-rich activities helping students develop letter recognition, encoding, decoding, and print awareness. Focus on Comprehension, Accuracy, Fluency, and Expanded vocabulary (CAFE) is used to drive literacy throughout elementary, building strong foundation skills in reading.
Students build a foundation of mathematical concepts with an introduction of math and numbers through the manipulation of physical objects.
This knowledge is applied to problem-solving with concepts like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Science inquiry learning and development is delivered through observation, experimentation, and use of the Scientific method. Integration of STEAM enhances the robust curriculum.
To help build well-rounded learners, students also experience a rich co-curricular program including art, music, physical education, ICT, and introduction to a foreign language.
